MAG's U5 Series Portal Mill, sometimes referred to as universal machining centers, brings lean machining to extra-large complex manufacturing. Available is bridge mill (stationary bridge, moving bed) and gantry mill (rail-type mill with moving bridge), these machines feature five-axis/five-side machining with automatic interchangeable head capability. They offer large part processing and reduced work-in-process on large, high-value parts. Five-sided machining reduces part refixturing / changeover, reduces setup costs, and reduces the risk providing better quality, more accurate parts, and ready-for-anything capability.
